John Lindsey Hickman was raised in a farming community in south-central Pennsylvania.
He holds an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement and served briefly as a Deputy Sheriff in Hagerstown, Maryland.
John spent the majority of his twenty-eight year career in law enforcement with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Virginia.
His varied experience includes serving ten years on the Sheriff's senior staff with responsibility for daily operations of the
corrections and court services division of the sheriff's office. During his tenure he published various articles and training documents
for the American Jail Association and the National Sheriff's Association magazines.
John continues to live in Northern Virginia with his wife, Jennifer and spending summer vacations on a lake in Maine
. His Castaway County Series is set in a fictitious community in Maine, the first two books receiving honor from indieBRAG
